How to Control Portal Access for the Beneficiary Investor Contact
When a new investor is created, the “Grant Portal Access to Beneficial Owner Contact” is ticked by default. Having this setting ticked will grant portal access to all emails on the Beneficiary contact that have portal access.
Unticking this tickbox will remove access to that investor from all emails on the Beneficiary contact, even though portal access is ticked for the email on the contact level and the portal account for that email can still have access to other investors.
Granting Portal Access to an Investor Contact
Granting access to emails associated with the beneficiary contact will grant access for the email account to all investors the contact has access to. Therefore, if an investor contact is the beneficiary contact of two investors, and both investors have “Grant Portal Access to Beneficial Owner Contact” ticked, all emails associated with the investor contact that have portal access ticked, will have access to both investors.
To set which emails on the Beneficiary contact have portal access, open the investor contact either by pressing “Choose” on the Contact Details tab on the Investor window or by opening the Investor Contact on the contact Search screen.
Note: There is an admin general setting that determines whether emails entered in the Main Contact Details list have portal access by default.
