How to use the Case_CompanyID Merge Field
Open the Document Templates
1: Click Admin from the Menu.
2: Click Document Templates from the drop down list - the Document Templates will open.
Edit the Main Letter Header
1: Click on Main Letter Header.
2: Click Edit - the Edit Template window will open.
Edit the Document
1: Click Edit Body Of Document - the Header will open in Microsoft Word.
Create a conditional statement
Position the cursor where you would like to add the Header.
1: Click Rules.
2: Select If...Then...Else... from the drop down list - the Insert Merge Field window will open.
Select the Merge Field name
1: Open the drop down list.
2: Select Case_CompanyID from the drop down list.
Complete the If Statement
The Statement reads as follows:
1: If Case_CompanyID = 0
2: Insert the Text "Mendelsons"
3: Otherwise Insert the Text "R H Legal"
4: Click OK to Save this statement and close the window
The Microsoft Word document may show either of these. Use ALT-F9 to toggel between the 2 different views.
Format the Header
Use the standard Microsoft Word Tools to format the text.
(Note: The same technique can be used to alternate addresses and company numbers etc.)
CTRL+S to Save the changes.
Exit Microsoft Word.
Close the window
1: Click OK to close the window.
