How to Scan a Document

Note: A document location must be set first. To set a document location click here for instruction.

Select the Scanner

Select the Scanner

1: Click Scanning, the Scanning window will open.

2: Select the Scanner from the scanner must be turned on.

Note: Sometimes the scanner is not recognised if turned on after the Synoptic Claims Software has been started.

3: If the scanner is not shown, click the Refresh Scanner List button to search for scanners again.

Scan the document

1: If scanning the document for someone else, select the user from the drop down list.

2: If a Duplex document, click the Duplex tick box.

3: Select either Multi-Page or Single-Page document from the drop down list.

4: Put the document in the scanner and then click Scan.

Review the document

Review the document

There are some tools available to finish the document:

1: Rotate document.

2: Change page.

3: Pan the page.

4: Crop the page

5: Fit the page width/hight to the screen.

6: Turn the thumbnails on or off.

7: Perform the crop / Save the changes.

8: Thumbnails are at the bottom of the window.

Note: The document will be saved in the document directory identified in the config followed by the year/month/day it was scanned.
