How to Backup the Database
Please take care when performing this operation, as not all SQL versions user interfaces are identical and incorrect usage may result in loss of data. Please call the Logican helpdesk in order to have a member of the support team to back up for you.
Open SQL Management Studio
1: Click the Start button - the navigation window will open.
2: Click All Programs - the Programs window will open.
3: Click Microsoft SQL Server 2008 - the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 file list will open.
4: Click SQL Server Management Studio - The Management Studio will open.
Connect to the Database
1: Click Connect - the Management Studio will link to the Server.
Select the Database
Open the Database tree to locate the CYC database.
Select the Backup Action
1: Right click on CYC - the Menu will open.
2: Select Back Up... from the Tasks Menu - The Back up window will open.
Perform the Back up
1: Add the required destination.
2: Click OK - The Back up will start.
Progress bar
The progress is show in the bottom left of the Back up window.
Back up Complete
Click OK and close the server manager.
